IFPRI Job Vacancy 2022

Tasks & Deliverables:

• Conduct interviews with key Harvest Plus staff to understand the progression of VAC promotion in recent years
• Collect data from individual interviews, site, and company visits; FGD and market analysis; raw data to be submitted alongside final reports
• Value chain mapping and needs analysis, in relation to vertical linkages (e.g. identifying constraints such as productive disintegration, stem distribution; identifying opportunities for increased stem availability, involvement of stem entrepreneurs) and horizontal linkages (e.g. access to business development services, finance, etc.); preliminary report and debriefing on findings from field research activity
• Carry out validation workshop (in-person, with possibility of virtual participation) involving key stakeholders to validate data sourced from the field
• Comprehensive report with SWOT analysis, demonstrating how strengths and opportunities can neutralize weaknesses and threats
• Recommend activities to be implemented to reinvigorate the value chain, and make it sustainable
• Recommend monitoring and results measurement system that can help to measure the success of implemented activities and provide feedback on what needs to be done further

Evaluation Criteria:

• Understanding of the scope of work
• Understanding of the project objectives
• Evidence of past experience developing and delivering a project of this type
• Evidence of past experience with bio fortification or agricultural interventions; experience with GAIN, Harvest Plus, and/or the CGIAR is desirable but not required
• Methodological approaches required to implement each part of the scope of work
• Comprehensive work plan, detailing the estimated number of days to complete each deliverable and estimated timeline overall
• Detailed budget, with a focus on cost-effectiveness and return on investment of proposed approach
• Identify possible challenges and pose creative approaches to addressing them
• Management and personnel plan, demonstrating that the team members working on the project have relevant qualifications and the overall experience required to successfully implement the project
• Roles & responsibilities of each team member clearly defined, with a main contact person for Harvest Plus clearly identified
